.
Also on the authority of `Umar (ra) who said:
While we were one day sitting with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) there appeared before us a man dressed in extremely white clothes and with very black hair. No traces of journeying were visible on him, and none of us knew him. He sat down close by the Prophet (ﷺ) rested his knees against the knees of the Prophet (ﷺ) and placed his palms over his thighs, and said: "O Muhammad! Inform me about Islam." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) replied: "Islam is that you should testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger (ﷺ), that you should perform salah (ritual prayer), pay the zakah, fast during Ramadan, and perform Hajj (pilgrimage) to the House (the Ka`bah at Makkah), if you can find a way to it (or find the means for making the journey to it)." He said: "You have spoken the truth." We were astonished at his thus questioning him (ﷺ) and then telling him that he was right, but he went on to say, "Inform me about Iman (faith)." He (the Prophet) answered, "It is that you believe in Allah and His angels and His Books and His Messengers and in the Last Day, and in fate (qadar), both in its good and in its evil aspects." He said, "You have spoken the truth." Then he (the man) said, "Inform me about Ihsan." He (the Prophet) answered, "It is that you should serve Allah as though you could see Him, for though you cannot see Him yet He sees you." He said, "Inform me about the Hour." He (the Prophet) said, "About that the one questioned knows no more than the questioner." So he said, "Well, inform me about its signs." He said, "They are that the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress and that you will see the barefooted ones, the naked, the destitute, the herdsmen of the sheep (competing with each other) in raising lofty buildings." Thereupon the man went off. I waited a while, and then he (the Prophet) said, "O `Umar, do you know who that questioner was?" I replied, "Allah and His Messenger know better." He said, "That was Jibril. He came to teach you your religion." [Muslim]

I said,"O Allah’s Apostle, I wish we took the station of Abraham as our praying place (for some of our prayers). So came the Divine Inspiration: And take you (people) the station of Abraham as a place of prayer (for some of your prayers e.g. two Rakat of Tawaf of Ka'ba)”. (2.125)

Also verse about performing funeral prayer for the hypocrites. ” O messenger of Allaah, are you about to pray for Abdullah ibn Ubai the man who said such and such on such and such and such day,“  The prophet smiled and continued to perform funeral prayer and Umar showed no sigh of stopping , until the prophet (sallallahu alyhi wasallam) said, "Move back, O Umar. Verily, I have been given a choice (to ask for ibn Ubai’s forgiveness or to not ask for his forgiveness), and I have made my choice. It has been said to me, (Qur'aan 9:80).”

4.After a short while the verse was revealed: And do not pray [the funeral prayer, O Muhammad], over any of them who has died - ever - or stand at his grave. Indeed, they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger and died while they were defiantly disobedient. Qur'aan 9:84

9.  One day a Jew met Hadrath Umar radi Allahu anhu and told that the Jibreel (alayhis salaam) that your Prophet speaks of is our enemy. 10.  Once two people were disputing so they went to Rasullullah sallAllahu alayhi wasallam to resolve their problem. The Holy Prophet sallAllahu alayhi wasallam gave a decision in favour of one of them. The other said lets go to Hadrath Umar radi Allahu anhu and ask him for a decision. When they arrived at Hadrath Umar radi Allahu anhu the one in whose favour Rasullullah sallAllahu alayhi wasallam had ruled, informed Hadrath Umar radi Allahu anhu that Rasullullah had already adjudicated in his favour but the other person wanted a decision from you. Hadrath Umar radi Allahu anhu went into his room and returned with his sword. He cut off the head of the one who wasn’t happy the verdict of the Holy Prophet sallAllahu alayhi wasallam. The other complainant ran to the Holy Prophet sallAllahu alayhi wasallam and told him what had happened. The Holy Prophet sallAllahu alayhi wasallam that I don’t believe that Hadrath Umar radi Allahu anhu would kill a believer.
The Ayat was revealed, ‘Then O Beloved by your Lord they shall not be Muslims until they make you judge in all disputes among themselves then they find no impediment in their hearts concerning whatever you decide and accept from the eve of their hearts.’ Surah Nisaa verse 65
All this helps us to understand that Hadrath Umar radi Allahu anhu is indeed a blessed personality and his decisions have time and again been certified by the Quran.

It is the rope of Allah [swt], the wise reminder, the straight path, whims would not deviate it nor the tongue become confused, and the scholars cannot be fully satisfied [i.e. still more to explore]. Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:
Allah's Apostle was the most generous of all the people, and he used to reach the peak in generosity in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel met him. Gabriel used to meet him every night of Ramadan to teach him the Qur'an. Allah's Apostle was the most generous person, even more generous than the strong uncontrollable wind (in readiness and haste to do charitable deeds).

Narrated Ibn 'Umar:

I heard Allah's Apostle while he was facing the East, saying, "Verily! Afflictions are there, from where the side of the head of Satan comes out."

The Surah as Sajdah  of  Quran become like Bird to intercede the people in the grave

Narrated by Khaled bin Madan Transmitted by Darimi (Mishkat)
Khaled said: Sura As-Sajdah (32) will argue on behalf of its reader in the grave saying: O Allah! had I been of your Book, accept my intercession for him; and had I been not your Book, efface me from it. It will then become like a bird which will spread over its wings upon him and will intercede for him and will prevent the punishment of the grave from him. And he said about Surah Al-Mulk (67) in a similar manner. [Part of Hadith - 2176]
