Abu Umamah (R) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said:

'Use the Miswaak, for verily, it purifies the mouth, and it is a Pleasure for the Lord. Jib-ra-eel (A.S.) exhorted me so much to use the Miswaak that I feared that its use would be decreed obligatory upon me and upon my Ummah. If I did not fear imposing hardship on my Ummah I would have made its use obligatory upon my people. Verily, I use the Miswaak so much that I fear the front part of my mouth being peeled (by constant and abundant brushing with the Miswaak)'." (IBN MAJAH)

Ayesha was accused of adultery by the Sahaba

The Nawasib have for centuries spread propaganda that Shias accuse Ayesha of committing adultery [naudobillah] that is a blanat lie on their part. Whilst the Shia do not count Ayesha as amongst the best of the wives of the Holy Prophet (s) on account of her actions recorded in the Quran and annals of history none of have cast aspersions upon her character. It seems that the sole motive of the Nawasib in pursuing this propaganda is to hide the names of those who had actually accused Ayesha of committing adultery because those individuals happened to be Sahaba. Ibn Kathir records in Al-Bidaya wa al-Nihaya, Volume 4 page 186:

“Then he (prophet) went to the people and addressed and then recited what Allah revealed in Quran, then he ordered that Mastah bin Uthatha, Hasaan bin Thabit, Hamna bint Jahsh be punished because they were among those who had spread the allegation of adultery”.
Ayesha was not sure if Holy Prophet (s) would tell truth

Imam of Ahl’ul Sunnah Abdul Hamid Ghazzali records the following in his classic Ihya Ulum-id-din:

“Once there was an altercation between the Prophet and Ayesha when they found Abu Bakr as judge. Ayesha said to the Prophet: ‘You speak but don’t speak except truth’. At once Abu Bakr gave her such a slap that blood began to ooze out from her mouth. Then he said: ‘O enemy, will he speak the truth?’”.

Ihya Ulum-id-din by Imam Ghazzali, Volume 2 page 36, Chapter “The secrets of marriage” – English translation by Maulana Fazlul Karim.
Ayesha and Hafsa tried to create rift between Prophet (s) and his wife Asma by attributing a lie to Prophet (s)

We read in Tabaqat Ibn Saad:

Hamza bin Abi Usaid narrated from his father that he said: ‘Allah’s messenger got married to Asma bin al-Numan al-Jaunia. He sent me to bring her to him, then Hafsa said to Ayesha or Ayesha said to Hafsa: ‘You color her hair while I will comb her hair’. Then they both did that, then one of them said to her (Asma): ‘The prophet (pbuh) likes a woman to say to him: ‘I seek refuge in the Lord of you’. When she entered on the prophet and he (prophet) closed the door and advanced his hand to her, she said: ‘I seek refuge in the Lord of you.”

Tabaqat Ibn Saad, Volume 8 page 145
Ayesha tried to incite Prophet’s wife Malika against Him (s)

We read in Tabaqat Ibn Saad:

Abu Masher said: ‘The prophet (pbuh) got married to Malika bint Kaab, she was very beautiful, thus Ayesha went to her and said: ‘Are you not ashamed of getting married to the killer of your father?’

Tabaqat Ibn Saad, Volume 8 page 148
Ayesha and Hafsa tried to create rift between Prophet (s) and his wife Zainab by attributing a lie to Him (s)

We read in Sahih Bukhari Volume 6, Book 60, Number 434:

“Narrated ‘Aisha: Allah’s Apostle used to drink honey in the house of Zainab, the daughter of Jahsh, and would stay there with her. So Hafsa and I agreed secretly that, if he come to either of us, she would say to him. “It seems you have eaten Maghafir (a kind of bad-smelling resin), for I smell in you the smell of Maghafir,” (We did so) and he replied. “No, but I was drinking honey in the house of Zainab, the daughter of Jahsh, and I shall never take it again. I have taken an oath as to that, and you should not tell anybody about it”.

"Ibn Abbas narrates that Hadhrath Umar went before Rasulullah (s) and "Master I am destroyed!'. Rasulullah (s) asked 'what thing has destroyed you?'. Umar replied last night I had anal sex. Rasulullah (s) did not give a reply to Umar, then Allah (swt) sent down this revelation "Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will; the words 'kabool wa Dhabar' (the anus is accepted)"

Narrated 'Aisha(R):Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 55, Number 605:

"..The Prophet returned to Khadija while his heart was beating rapidly. She took him to Waraqa bin Naufal who was a Christian convert and used to read the Gospel in Arabic Waraqa asked (the Prophet), "What do you see?" When he told him, Waraqa said, "That is the same angel whom Allah sent to the Prophet) Moses. Should I live till you receive the Divine Message, I will support you strongly."

The other hadîth is:

Narrated 'Aisha(R)Sahih Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 1, Number 3

Khadija then accompanied him to her cousin Waraqa bin Naufal bin Asad bin 'Abdul 'Uzza, who, during the pre-Islamic Period became a Christian and used to write the writing with Hebrew letters. He would write from the Gospel in Hebrew as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had lost his eyesight. Khadija said to Waraqa, "Listen to the story of your nephew, O my cousin!" Waraqa asked, "O my nephew! What have you seen?" Allah's Apostle described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said, "This is the same one who keeps the secrets (angel Gabriel) whom Allah had sent to Moses. I wish I were young and could live up to the time when your people would turn you out." Allah's Apostle asked, "Will they drive me out?" Waraqa replied in the affirmative and said, "Anyone (man) who came with something similar to what you have brought was treated with hostility; and if I should remain alive till the day when you will be turned out then I would support you strongly." But after a few days Waraqa died.
Narrated Abdullah Ibn Umar: A group of Jews came and invited the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) to Quff. So he visited them in their school. They said: AbulQasim, one of our men has committed fornication with a woman; so pronounce judgment upon them. They placed a cushion for the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) who sat on it and said: Bring the Torah. It was then brought. He then withdrew the cushion from beneath him and placed the Torah on it saying: I believed in thee and in Him Who revealed thee. He then said: Bring me one who is learned among you. Then a young man was brought. The transmitter then mentioned the rest of the tradition of stoning similar to the one transmitted by Malik from Nafi'(No. 4431).

Abu Dharr reported: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, “Did you see your Lord?” The Prophet said, “He is light, so how could I see Him?”

[Sahih Muslim, Book 1, Number 341]

Abu Huraira reported: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say, “Allah the Exalted said: Who is more unjust then he who considers his creation as My creation? Let him create an ant, or a grain of wheat or barely.”

[Sahih Bukhari, Book 93, Number 648]

Zaid ibn Thabit reported: Abu Bakr wrote to him when the people of Al-Yamama were killed and Umar was with him. Abu Bakr said, “Indeed, Umar has told me about the heavy casualties among the people of Al-Yamama, the reciters of the Quran and the Muslims, and he said: I fear more casualties among the reciters in the land and that much of the Quran will be lost, so I think you should order the compiling of the Quran.” I said to Umar, “How can I do something which the Messenger of Allah did not do?” Umar said, “By Allah, it is good.” Zaid said, “He did not stop encouraging me to do that until my heart was opened and I agreed with Umar’s view.” Zaid added that when he and Umar were sitting with Abu Bakr he was not speaking, so Abu Bakr said, “Certainly you are a smart young man and you would write the revelations for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, so gather it for him.” Zaid said, “By Allah, if I had been responsible for shifting a mountain among the mountains, that would not have been as heavy as what you have ordered me to do of compiling the Quran.”

[Musnad Ahmad, Number 77, Sahih]

Aisha, mother of the believers, reported: The beginning of the revelation to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was in the form of good dreams which came true like bright daylight; then, the love of seclusion was bestowed upon him. He used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira where he used to worship Allah continuously for many days until he desired to see his family. He would take with him food for the stay and then come back to his wife Khadija to take his food again, until suddenly the truth descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira. The angel came to him and asked him to read. The Prophet replied, “I do not know how to read.” The Prophet added, “The angel caught me and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read and I replied: I do not know how to read; thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time until I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read but I replied: I do not know how to read; thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me, and then released me and said: Read in the name of your Lord, who has created everything, who has created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous.” (96:1-3) Then Allah’s Apostle returned with the Inspiration and with his heart beating severely. Then he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said, “Cover me! Cover me!” They covered him until his fear subsided and then he told her everything that happened and he said, “I fear that something may happen to me.” Khadija replied, “Never! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you. You keep good relations with your family, you help the poor and the destitute, you serve your guests generously, and you assist those afflicted by calamities.”

Khadija then accompanied him to her cousin Waraqa bin Nawfal, who during the time of ignorance became a Christian and he would write with Hebrew letters. He would write from the Gospel in Hebrew as much as Allah wished him to write. He was an old man and had lost his eyesight. Khadija said to Waraqa, “Listen to the story of your nephew, O my cousin!” Waraqa asked, “O my nephew, what have you seen?” The Prophet described whatever he had seen. Waraqa said, “This is the same one who keeps the secrets whom Allah had sent to Moses. I wish I were young and could live up to the time when your people would turn you out.” The Prophet asked, “Will they drive me out?” Waraqa replied, “Yes, anyone who came with something similar to what you have brought was treated with hostility; and if I should remain until till the day when you will be turned out then I would strongly support you.” But after a few days Waraqa died and the revelation was paused for a while.

Jabir ibn Abdullah reported: Concerning the pause in revelation, the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, “While I was walking, all of a sudden I heard a voice from the sky. I looked up and saw the same angel who had visited me at the cave of Hira sitting on a chair between the sky and the earth. I became afraid of him and I came back home and I said, Wrap me! Then Allah revealed the verse: O you wrapped up, arise and warn, and exalt your Lord, and purify your garments, and abandon the idols. (74:1-4) After this the revelation started coming strongly and frequently.”

[Sahih Bukhari, Book 1, Number 3

Ibn Umar reported: A man asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, “Which places are the most evil?” The Prophet said, “I do not know until I ask Gabriel.” So he asked Gabriel and he said, “I do not know until I ask Michael.” So he came and then the Prophet said, “The best places are the mosques; and the most evil places are the markets.”

[Sahih ibn Hibban, Number 1633, Sahih]

Narrated 'Aisha: When Allah's Apostle returned on the day (of the battle) of Al-Khandaq (i.e. Trench), he put down his arms and took a bath. Then Gabriel whose head was covered with dust, came to him saying, "You have put down your arms! By Allah, I have not put down my arms yet." Allah's Apostle said, "Where (to go now)?" Gabriel said, "This way," pointing towards the tribe of Bani Quraiza. So Allah's Apostle went out towards them.

SUNAN ABU DAWUD 3647 (KNOWLEDGE)

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin:

Are you not surprised at AbuHurayrah? He came and sat beside my apartment, and began to narrate traditions from the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) making me hear them. I am saying supererogatory prayer. He got up (and went away) before I finished my prayer. Had I found him, I would have replied to him. The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) did not narrate traditions quickly one after another as you narrate quickly.
Sahih Muslim, Book 001, Number 0309:
It is narrated on the authority of Anas b. Malik that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: I was brought((((((( al-Buraq Who is an animal white and long, larger than a donkey but smaller than a mule,))))))) who would place his hoof a distance equal to the range of vision. I mounted it and came to the Temple (Bait Maqdis in Jerusalem), then tethered it to the ring used by the prophets. I entered the mosque and prayed two rak'ahs in it, and then came out and Gabriel brought me a vessel of wine and a vessel of milk.

And in the hadeeth on the beginning of revelation, the Prophet –Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam- said: ”I was again called and I looked about but saw nothing. I was called again and raised my head, and there on the Throne in the open atmosphere he was sitting – meaning Jibril (Gabriel) alayhi assalam» [Saheeh Muslim], meaning he saw Jibril on a chair in the open atmosphere.

Zayd ibn Aslam said: Ibn Umar used to dye his beard with yellow colour so much so that his clothes were filled (dyed) with yellowness. He was asked: Why do you dye with yellow colour? He replied: I saw the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) dyeing with yellow colour, and nothing was dearer to him than it. He would dye all his clothes with it, even his turban.

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "dye grey hairs and do not copy the Jews."
Tirmidhi transmitted it, and Nasa'i transmitted it on the authority of Ibn Umar and Az-Zubayr.

Narrated Anas bin Malik:

Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman came to Uthman at the time when the people of Sham and the people of Iraq were Waging war to conquer Arminya and Adharbijan. Hudhaifa was afraid of their (the people of Sham and Iraq) differences in the recitation of the Qur'an, so he said to 'Uthman, "O chief of the Believers! Save this nation before they differ about the Book (Quran) as Jews and the Christians did before." So 'Uthman sent a message to Hafsa saying, "Send us the manuscripts of the Qur'an so that we may compile the Qur'anic materials in perfect copies and return the manuscripts to you." Hafsa sent it to 'Uthman. 'Uthman then ordered Zaid bin Thabit, 'Abdullah bin AzZubair, Said bin Al-As and 'AbdurRahman bin Harith bin Hisham to rewrite the manuscripts in perfect copies. 'Uthman said to the three Quraishi men, "In case you disagree with Zaid bin Thabit on any point in the Qur'an, then write it in the dialect of Quraish, the Qur'an was revealed in their tongue." They did so, and when they had written many copies, 'Uthman returned the original manuscripts to Hafsa. 'Uthman sent to every Muslim province one copy of what they had copied, and ordered that all the other Qur'anic materials, whether written in fragmentary manuscripts or whole copies, be burnt. Said bin Thabit added, "A Verse from Surat Ahzab was missed by me when we copied the Qur'an and I used to hear Allah's Apostle reciting it. So we searched for it and found it with Khuzaima bin Thabit Al-Ansari. (That Verse was): 'Among the Believers are men who have been true in their covenant with Allah.' (33.23)

Sahih Bukhari 6:61:510
[edit]Sixth problem

The compilation of the Qur'an was clearly a very human process involving trial and error, educated guesses, faulty memories, fallible opinions, disagreements, mistakes, ignorance, and bad decisions. And we can't forget, of course, the pile of manuscripts reduced to ashes by Uthman in his desperate attempt to destroy all evidence that the Qur'an hadn't been perfectly preserved. The early Muslim community left modern Muslims with a huge mess to clean up if they want to cling to the false belief that the Qur'an was perfectly preserved as you can see in this hadith;

Abu Harb b. Abu al-Aswad reported on the authority of his father that Abu Musa al-Ash'ari sent for the reciters of Basra. They came to him and they were three hundred in number. They recited the Qur'an and he said: You are the best among the inhabitants of Basra, for you are the reciters among them. So continue to recite it. (But bear in mind) that your reciting for a long time may not harden your hearts as were hardened the hearts of those before you. We used to recite a surah which resembled in length and severity to (Surah) Bara'at. I have, however, forgotten it with the exception of this which I remember out of it: "If there were two valleys full of riches, for the son of Adam, he would long for a third valley, and nothing would fill the stomach of the son of Adam but dust." And we used to recite a surah which resembled one of the surahs of Musabbihat, and I have forgotten it, but remember (this much) out of it: "O people who believe, why do you say that which you do not practise" (lxi. 2) and "that is recorded in your necks as a witness (against you) and you would be asked about it on the Day of Resurrection"

Sahih Muslim 5:2286
